The Ericsson SSR 8010 is a high-performance Smart Services Router designed to deliver carrier-grade IP/MPLS routing for mobile, fixed, and converged networks. Part of the SSR 8000 family, the SSR 8010 combines advanced service capabilities with exceptional scalability, making it ideal for operators seeking to handle increasing traffic demands while maintaining network efficiency and reliability. Its architecture supports a wide range of service provider applications, from mobile backhaul and broadband aggregation to core routing functions.
Featuring a 10-slot chassis, the SSR 8010 offers a balance between capacity and footprint, enabling deployments in both large-scale networks and space-constrained environments. Its modular design allows for flexible configurations, accommodating a variety of line cards and switch fabrics to match specific throughput and interface requirements. Built for high availability, the SSR 8010 incorporates redundant control, switching, and power systems, ensuring continuous service even in the event of hardware failures.
At Carritech, we continue to support the Ericsson SSR 8010 by providing fully tested, refurbished units and modules, along with expert repair services to extend the life of installed systems. Our telecom specialists offer technical guidance, spare parts sourcing, and comprehensive logistics support, helping operators maintain and optimize their network infrastructure while controlling operational costs.
Chassis & Slot Architecture
The SSR 8010 features a 10-slot modular chassis, offering the same universal hardware slots as other models in the SSR 8000 family.
Throughput & Backplane Capacity
Initial simplex capacity: up to 2 Tbps
Maximum simplex backplane capacity: up to 8 Tbps
Supports full-duplex slot capacity of 400 Gbps or 100 Gbps
Port Density (I/O Capability)
Depending on configuration, the SSR 8010 can host up to:
400 × 1 G ports
100 × 10 G ports
20 × 40 G ports
10 × 100 G ports
Energy Efficiency
Consumes approximately 3.3 watts per Gbps of traffic throughput, making it well-suited for metro and edge deployments with energy-conscious designs.
Software & Platform
Powered by Ericsson’s IP Operating System (IPOS), a resilient, modular platform already deployed by many operators globally.
Can be deployed as part of Ericsson’s Multi-Service Packet Backbone (MPBN) solution for converged fixed and mobile IP transport networks.
Architecture & Deployment Flexibility
The SSR 8010 complements the larger SSR 8020 (20-slot), enabling flexible deployments across both aggregation and edge layers. One rack can fit either two SSR 8010 units or a single SSR 8020.
